Southern XC Round 1

The 1st round of the Southern XC series kicked off at Checkendon near reading, this was my 1st race as a junior but it didnt go to plan got a terrible start lost quite a bit of time but made it up quite quickly. I was sitting in the top 10 and was riding with a few other riders Ryan Keynes, James Tapp and Ben hawker. We stayed together for 2 laps but on the final lap i made an attack and got a lead. On the final lap I was starting catching Matt Gater of VC Deal/Activ but he had done enough in the early stages of the race to have finished 27seconds ahead. Not the best way to start the Southern Xc Series in 8th position but im definatly going to improve at the next round at Wasing Estate in May.
