General Update

Finally 18!! Yesterday was my 18th, just had some family and friends round nothing mad. Went out Sunday night after our staff V Members football game where we lost 10-4 which did quite wind me up, dont know why as i dont particularly care about football. Few drinks in Corkers wine bar then for a curry then back to corkers before walking home.
Last week saw my S-Works Tricross get built up after sitting in my room for a few months doing nothing at all. My nan said for my 18th shes going to spend a fair amount of money on me so i thought i might as well build the bike up as thats what i have been wanting to do for a long time. Built kit consists of Specialized S-works tricross frame with Carbon Easton Ec90 X forks with Cole Rollen Elite wheels, Sram Cranks, 105 mech and shifter, thompson seatpost, Pro road bars and stem, specialized and conti tyres, charge spoon saddle, Sram chain and specialized bar tape. I built the bike mainly for road training and the odd bit of cyclocross racing when i get some tubular wheels. I also bought a Garmin Edge 200 for Strava and map purposes which i think will help with my training as i will have more motivation to ride hard rather than slack off. Yesterday on my birthday i did a short ride with 1 KOM segement up rowtown Hill. This was iust a warm up ride to get back into training before this sundays XTM 4hr pairs enduro. Today i did a small ride aiming to beat another couple of times up some hills in the area the first being a sprint up Rowtown hill which i tried to beat a few days previous but failed by 3 seconds but oday beat what was the winning time by 1 second. The other hill i wanted to have a go at was Monument hill in Weybridge which definately wasnt going to happen at 6.15pm earlier today with loads of cars and people trying to get home from work. I still put in a reasonable time 9 seconds of the leader but i may try and beat my time tomorrow before heading over to Newlands corner and a few of the Surrey Hills.
